• What does an Obagi skin peel do?

  Here at our Cotswolds clinic, we use the Obagi radiance blue peel, which is a rejuvenating skin treatment. The peel removes top skin layers to slough older skin cells from the surface and stimulate cell regeneration at a deeper level. The peel solution contains a low concentration of salicylic acid. During the course of your treatment program, you have approximately six sessions.

• What happens during a skin peel treatment?

  During your skin peel treatment the target area of skin will be cleansed, and any exposed sensitive area will have protective gel applied. The peel solution will be applied and left on your skin for 10 minutes. We will then gently wash the peel solution off your skin and apply a sun block.

• Does it hurt?

  You might feel a tingling sensation when the peel solution has been applied, but it shouldn’t hurt.

• Are there any side-effects?

  You won’t have any of the downtime that deep peels require, but immediately afterwards, as well as during the following few days, you might experience a tightness and redness of the skin. This is alerting you to the fact that your skin is preparing to peel. A moisturiser can be used to make your skin feel more comfortable.

• Tell me about Obagi facials

  An Obagi facial will take place in our luxury Cotswolds-based treatment rooms. This is a chance for you to relax, while we apply medical grade skincare products. We’ll provide you with a deep cleansing facial that will reduce pores, exfoliate your skin, and then moisturise it. You’ll leave our clinic with skin that looks refreshed and hydrated.

• What sort of results should I expect from a skin peel?

  Once the old skin peels away, you’ll see fresh pink skin tissue underneath. You’ll need to cover it with a sunblock for a short period of time, while the skin is sensitive, but afterwards your skin will look radiant and refreshed, healthy and unlined.
