• How does wrinkle reduction treatment work?

  Repeated muscle contractions over the years are what leads to frown and forehead lines. You contract your facial muscles when you form an expression, but when the elasticity in your skin begins to weaken, as you get older, the lines do not smooth over. They remain, even after you’ve finished frowning or laughing. Botox injected into targeted expression-forming muscles relaxes them and reduces their activity. This leads to your face looking rejuvenated.

• Which wrinkles will Botox treatment reduce?

  Wrinkle reduction treatment is most effective on the prominent lines that occur on the upper face. The lines that stretch horizontally across your forehead, and those that run vertically between the eyebrows, both contribute heavily to a person having an ageing appearance. Reduction of them results in a more youthful look.

• How will I look after wrinkle reduction treatment?

  We strive to provide you with a natural looking age reversal in the face. To do that we adopt a ‘less is more’ stance. Once the results of the Botox become visible, you should look younger and less tired, with fewer wrinkles.

• What Botox aftercare advice can you give?

  Exercise and saunas should be avoided for 24 hours following your treatment and you are also advised not to rub the treatment area to avoid spreading Botox into neighbouring muscles.

• Can anyone have wrinkle reduction injections?

  There is the odd exception. For example, pregnant women should wait until after the birth before they book in for a appointment. However, the real question here is whether having wrinkle reduction injections is the best course of action for you to achieve your anti-ageing goals.
