Dermal Fillers

Smooth lines and adds volume for a rejuvenated look

Deep expression lines that form in the mid to lower face, as we age, can be smoothed over for a younger look using dermal fillers. Crevices between the nose in the mouth (nasolabial), as well as the lines that run from the corners of our lips to our chins (marionette) are very common, but they do prominently signpost our advancing years. By injecting hyaluronic acid under the skin in these areas, we can reduce the prominence of these lines.

Dermal filler treatment is not just used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It can also add skin volume to thinning skin areas, such as under the eyes and around the cheeks, and reduce skin laxity around the jaw. Entire, non-invasive facelifts can be provided using dermal fillers alone. Essentially they plump, lift, and tighten ageing skin to offer a natural-looking rejuvenation.

Frequently asked questions

  • What does dermal filler treatment involve?

The levels of hyaluronic acid and collagen that we have naturally in our bodies decreases as we get older. When that happens, our skin becomes less hydrated, develops fine lines and wrinkles, and loses volume. Dermal filler treatment involves injecting small quantities of hyaluronic acid under the skin. As soon as this happens, it soaks up water like a sponge, and increases skin volume. The results are visible immediately. Facial lines will be smoothed over, sagging skin tightened, and your appearance should be more youthful.

  • Where on the face can be treated with dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers can provide a full liquid facelift, with similar results to surgery, but none of the scars or downtime, as well as target certain signs of ageing on the face. Nasolabial and marionette lines are commonly tackled with dermal fillers, as are thinning lips, sallow cheeks, dark circles under the eyes, and sagging jawlines.

  • What happens during dermal filler treatment?

You’ll have a good idea of what’s going to happen during your treatment, as each step will have been discussed with you during the consultation. Initially, local anaesthetic will be  applied into the areas the face targeted for treatment. The dermal fillers will then be injected under the skin. You’ll see the results of the treatment immediately.

  • How safe are dermal fillers?

We use trusted, premium brand, Allergan. When it comes to dermal fillers, and your new look, it’s not worth spending less. Your appearance is at stake. Our practitioner, Emma, has been delivering predictable, safe results for 11 years.

  • How will I look after dermal filler treatment?

You’ll get a good idea of the sort of results that can be achieved during your consultation. Our results are predictable, and we would expect to at least match your expectations of your new rejuvenated look, if we don’t exceed them. Immediately following treatment, there may be some swelling, bruising, and redness, at the injection site but this will soon subside. Your results should last for 6 to 9 months.

  • Is dermal filler treatment suitable for everyone?

Emma will determine whether dermal filler treatment is the best course of action to take to combat your individual signs of ageing during the consultation. Certain health conditions, or pregnancy, may prevent you from being a suitable candidate.
